Franky Valentyn

At the age of 4, Franky first started playing piano and a short time later was performing with his younger brother David to audiences around his home town of Blacktown.

By the time he reached High School, Franky could  get a tune out of any instrument he picked up and was already playing professionly in local bands. By the time he reached year 11, the principal called in his parents and informed them that Franky had gone as far as he could, so at 17 Franky left school to pursue a career as a full-time musician. He has never looked back.

Franky became an integral member of such iconic Sydney bands such as Mad Gorilla, The Beatnix (as musical director...still there today in "spirit" due to modern technology), The Generation, who had a charting Independent single in the 80s and  the iconic Le Club Nerd. Franky also served as Pianist and musical director for ABC TVs Play School.

A self tought musician with theory knowledge or ability to read music due to his dislexia, Franky became heavily influenced by the music performed by Rick Wakeman, Kate Bush, The Beatles, ELO, Queen and ABBA (yes, ABBA), Franky has ventured many times into the world of composition, writiing and recording music. His compositions have been heard on ABC's Play School and Australian Story,  sporting events including The Golden Slipper, 2000 Para Olympics and the NRL. He has also produced albums for over 30 Australian performers.
